Random video chat that does not start with your face

Tap once and you are talking to a stranger. The difference is what they see: an avatar that copies your expressions and a voice in a persona, until you both decide otherwise.

Start a random call

Two ways to meet

Masked. Everyone starts as an avatar. If the conversation is going well, either of you can ask to take a step: background, face, voice, then a private room. Both have to agree, and either can drop back instantly.

Face on. If you would rather just show your face, turn it on before you search. You are then matched only with people who chose the same thing.

How a call on Peel works

  1. You are an avatar first. Your camera drives an avatar that copies your expressions, and your voice can go out in a persona. The other person sees the avatar, not your face.
  2. Peel one step at a time. Background, then face, then real voice, then a private room you both keep. Each step needs both of you to agree, and either of you can go back at any moment.
  3. Or skip the mask. Turn on "Show my face from the start" and you are matched only with people who chose the same, so nobody sees a face they did not opt into.

What Peel does about the usual problems

Nudity. Every call is checked on both phones, in the call itself. One hit masks the camera and warns; a second ends the call and keeps that person off the grid.
Under-18s. A face age check with a liveness step runs before random calls, for guests too, not a tick box. Three failed tries lock the device for 24 hours; all three under 18 refuse it for good.
Screenshots of your face. What leaves your phone is cut to the step you agreed to: black frames while masked, and at the background step the face is painted over before the video is sent, not just hidden on the other side.
Reports. Reporting sends the last seconds of what the checks saw, and bans key on the device, not only the account, so a fresh sign-up on the same phone does not wash it off.

Topics, rooms and streams

Pick topics before you search and Peel prefers people who picked the same ones. There are group rooms by topic, and you can go live to whoever wants to watch. Gifts and Peel-and-Win are there if you want them; none of it is needed to talk to someone.

Questions people ask

How fast is a match?

As fast as there is someone else searching your pool. You keep your place in the queue while you wait.

Can I skip someone?

Yes, three skips a minute, then a short wait. Premium removes the wait.

Does it work on a phone browser?

Yes, and it installs to the home screen. Calls need a camera and microphone, and a secure connection, which peelcam.com is.

What does it cost?

Nothing to talk. Diamonds for gifts and Premium are optional.
